FAQs About Wedding Planners and Coordination

I’m engaged… now what?
This is, by far, the number one most frequently asked questions of newly-engaged couples. As most couples do not plan weddings for a living, it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, stressed and nervous as to where to begin. First things first… determine what is important to you, whether it be the venue, the style of ceremony, the location or budget. Then reserve the most significant portions immediately and spend the majority of your engagement enjoying each other. Do your research and trust the professionals. Remember, you get what you pay for so do the extra legwork to ensure it’s a good fit personality-wise with your vendors, as you’ll be dealing with them for at least a year in most cases.

Can we really afford a Wedding Planner on our limited budget?
A Wedding Planner shouldn’t be viewed as a luxury for couples planning their wedding. A professional Wedding Planner will guide you in the direction of cost-cutting techniques and make recommendations that will save you money in all areas of your wedding. Professional Wedding Planners utilize industry resources to secure their clients with the best pricing available. Couples can’t afford to not invest in a professional Wedding Planner… whether it’s Day-of Coordination, Individual Services or Full-Service Wedding Planning.

What’s the difference between on-premise and off-premise catering and which is better for us?
Simply put, on-premise means a full-service, onsite venue that offers its own services in-house (chefs, kitchen, staffing, etc.). Typically, on-premise facilities offer couples package pricing and can oftentimes be viewed as less expensive than off-premise locations due to the fact that off-premise venues require you to secure a caterer, staffing, tables and chair rentals and linens on your own. However, many times couples can save thousands of dollars of off-premise venues in the liquor bill alone as the majority of off-premise venues allow clients to bring in their own alcohol. Weigh your options and check with your Wedding Consultant to decide the right choice for you.

I don’t know where to begin with my event design and decor… can you help?
Absolutely! Marrero Events is the only planning firm that has an onsite Studio available for design consultations. Once you step foot into our beautiful and awe-inspiring Studio, you will be thrilled to see all of the options available to you. We work with you from designing an inspiration board to bringing your vision to life!

Do we need to hire you for the entire wedding planning process or can we just hire you for the day of our wedding to ensure a smooth flow of the day’s events?
The beauty of meeting with a Wedding Consultant/Planner is to allow both sides to ask questions, familiarize yourself with the wedding planning process and offer services that will benefit you. There are countless services offered to couples from full-service wedding planning, to month-of coordination to day-of wedding management. Whether you require someone to handle every detail for you, just need some assistance with vendor negotiation, contract review, or facilitation of the Wedding Day itself, ask the right questions to determine which services are necessary.
